I have just upgraded from Standard Edge to Chromium Edge, it opens but I am unable to browse, even access it's own settings. This problem started with Google Chrome browser and I have to uninstall it.

    Hi CleverH,

I’m Rey, your Independent Advisor, and a Windows user, just like you.

I understand you are having trouble browsing using the new Edge Chromium which after you installed and uninstalled Chrome. Let's work on that.

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the Edge Chromium. If not, you may follow the steps from the link below:

After you uninstall this app, restart pc and re-install it.

    Regards,

Hie Rey,thanks for your response, however unistalling and reinstalling didn't work, and all the other possible solutions proffered were no applicable as I am failing even to access the settings page. Any attempt to open any page gives me the error I alluded earlier on. I am thinking is there a way of unistalling the standard Edge and installed Chromium as a standalone and not as an upgrade.

I suggest not to uninstall the legacy Edge since that's a pre-installed app. Meaning to say, if you lose it, you'll get issues on the system since IE and Edge are linked together. Without either of these will corrupt some system files.

May I ask what antivirus do you have on this pc?

The reason why I ask this because some antiviruses will block the Edge Chromium. If you can reinstall your antivirus, you may try and do an uninstallation and check on the New Edge and see if it works without the antivirus.

If it works, then the best thing to do is to contact your antivirus provider and ask on how to allow Edge Chromium to enable access or unblock the app to work..

    Regards,
