When site opened from other application, Edge does not come to foreground

If I click on a link from another application, say OneNote, for example, the site is brought up on the new Edge browser, but the browser does not come to the foreground.  I think this is different from the way Legacy Edge operated.  Am I wrong?  It would certainly be more convenient is Edge came to the foreground when a site was opened from another application.

I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't understood that well.  The URL opens just fine.   What seemed strange to me is the following.

An application overlays the Edge browser on the screen, say OneNote.  When I click a link in the application, and the site appears in Edge, I expect Edge to come to the foreground on top of the application that launched the URL, but Edge remains in the background.  Of course, when I click on Edge, it come to the foreground, but I thought it used to do that automatically, if a URL were launched on it from another application.

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand your concern as the URL opens in Edge but does not come up. However, we were able to open the URL on new and old age from a different app. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    • What is the Edge version currently installed on the PC?
    • Does it happens from all the apps or is it an app specific?
    • Does this issue specific to a particular website?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these steps and check if that fix the issue.

    1. Press Windows + R key to launch Run command. Type regedit and click Ok.
    2. Navigate to this location:   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
    3. On the right pane right click on the following key and select modify:
    4. ForegroundLockTimeout
    5. Select Base as decimal and then type 0 (zero) in the value data box and click on Ok.
    6. Exit from registry and restart the computer.

**Note:**Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

Follow the steps to take backup of registry.

Let us know how it goes.
