Yesterday Microsoft  Edge updated itself on my laptop and now I cannot access my gmail account - I can access gmail on my phone so the issue is my laptop rather than gmail itself. Can anyone advise on how to access gmail please

Good day! I'm Raniel, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

Can you perform the methods below and see if it fixes the issue:

    Method 1: Reset MS Edge

    1. Open your Edge browser and click on Settings and more (...) > Settings
    2. Click on "Reset Settings" > Restore settings to their default values > Reset
    3. Relaunch the browser once done and check again

Method 2: Kindly try to check if proxy is off on your machine:

    1. Open your Edge browser and click on Settings and more (...) > Settings
    2. Go to System > Open your computer's proxy settings
    3. Set the setting to off

Method 3: Temporarily disable your antivirus

Method 4: Turn off Microsoft Defender Smart Screen

To turn off Microsoft Defender Smart Screen, open your Edge browser and click on Settings and more (...) > Settings. Go to the Privacy and services tab > scroll down to Services and toggle the setting for Microsoft Defender SmartScreen.

Method 5: Kindly try to run the SFC and DISM command as well to try in repairing the system files

    1. On the search bar, type "command prompt" and select Run as administrator
    2. Type the following commands in order

    sfc /scannow then press Enter

    Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /CheckHealth then press Enter

    Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /ScanHealth then press Enter

    Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth then press Enter

    rundll32.exe pnpclean.dll,RunDLL_PnpClean /DRIVERS /MAXCLEAN then press Enter

    1. Perform a reboot once done and check again.

Please let me know how it goes. Thank you.
