Hi Neutrino,

A way to open links from the favorites bar on a new tab, you can press the menu key on the keyboard, (equivalent to a right click) and select "open in new tab"
This browser is no longer supported.

I'm having to use Edge for work because the Teams app doesn't support multiple accounts and the Teams web app doesn't work in Firefox. I'm spending hours trying to work out how to do basic stuff in Edge. My biggest issue is using bookmarks efficiently.
TLDR How do I open a link in folder on the Favorite Bar in a new tab using the keyboard?
********* Long Version **********
I've imported my bookmarks from Firefox and now I'm trying to work out how to open a bookmark using the keyboard, either in the current tab, or in a new tab (and then switch to that tab). Shouldn't be too difficult you might have thought!
So the first thing I tried is the Favorites toolbar button, opens using CTRL+SHIFT+O. I can open that with the keyboard, and use the keyboard to navigate into whatever folder I need and open a bookmark.
* What works
Enter to open a bookmark works
CTRL+Enter to open in a new tab works
CTRL+Enter to open in a new tab doesn't switch to a new tab, but easily fixed using Tab Activate extension
* What doesn't work
Selecting a bookmark leaves the menu open so you have to close it manually. No obvious workaround. Painful but I could probably live with it.
Selecting a bookmark leaves whichever folder it was in open the next time you open the menu, so after opening a few bookmarks the bookmark menu is just an unnavigable mess of already open folders that you have to manually close one at a time. This is completely unusable.
The next approach is to try using the Favorites bar. CTRL+SHIFT+B to open bar, CTRL+ALT+B to focus, DOWN_ARROW to open menu.
* What works
Doesn't leave the folders open every time you open a link.
* What doesn't work
The keyboard shortcuts needed just to open it is pretty ridiculous to start with.
Selecting a bookmark closes the dropdown menu. You still have to close the bar manually every time you use it though, which is painful.
The biggest problem though is that while a link directly on the Favorite Bar can be opened using CTRL+Enter and will correctly open in a new tab, a link inside a folder on the Favorite Bar will not open in a new tab using CTRL+Enter. There does not appear to be any way to open a link in a folder on the Favorite Bar in a new tab using the keyboard.
