I started having problems about 2 months ago. Have a new accer desk top. I usually go to a truck forum group that I been in for 13 years. I click the icon and a pop up shows up and it says 1005 . It says the group has blocked me. Some other things I tried to search has been doing the same thing. Took my computer to the shop and they had no trouble using the search bar. Got home and its doing the same thing. It says cloudflare is causing the trouble. I never installed any thing on my computer. just what microsoft sends on updates. The forum group moderator said they have not blocked me. he said to clear the history and turn off computer and start over with a new start up. Some time it work and mostly it dont. Read online that I should go to aps and delete cloudflare. Not on my list. All or my other computer, and tablet and phone work just fine. Please help. Not really computer savy with the lingo and what to do.

Hello Rick. I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

Have you tried using another browser? Try that first as it will tell us if the problem is Edge or browsers in general.

You describe being blocked from accessing websites, which is different than Windows Search which is conducted from the task bar Search box or icon, or in File Explorer Search box. Are you actually having problems with Windows Search or is it just accessing certain websites in your browser?

Right click the Network icon in System Tray at the right end of the task bar, choose Troubleshoot Problems, then All Network Adapters, then "I'm trying to reach a specific website" and copy/paste the exact same URL you're trying to access to trace why it can't connect.

If the problem is isolated to Edge then try these fixes for Edge:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/microsofted...

If that doesn't help then please post back a screenshot of the exact blocking error you're getting. Here is how to take a screenshot so I can see what you're seeing and attach using Insert Image button in reply box: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/o...

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back, I will have other suggestions if necessary.

Hello, Yes I have tried google. edge and firefox. All the same problems. I just turned on the computer to read your mail. Low and behold it loaded up the forum group right away. So as I am on the computer a while it starts up. Delete history and close out the computer and reboot it and try again.

When I try to search things I will go to the favorites bar on the far right of the computer screen and I have no problems getting to those sites. I will try adding my forum group to the favorites bar and see if it fails there. Heading out to do the sunday thing. After dinner I will check into this a little deeper. One thing I will do as time permits is to go to settings and then go to the garage computer and compare settings pages from one to the other and check that. Thank you very much for your quick reply. I feel a little better than doing this alone. Rick

Hello Rick. I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

It sounds like by Search you are referring to your browser Favorites or website addresses that are typed into the browser address box, correct?

This doesn't actually pertain to Windows Search from the taskbar icon or box, or from File Explorer Search box, does it?

If you were able to open Microsoft Community site from the link in your notification email, then the problem might be that a Favorite or shortcut you have for these sites on your PC may be corrupted. If any site cannot open, try typing in it's web address or opening it from Google Search. If your Favorite or shortcut is corrupted, delete it and create it again.

Keep me posted on your progress as I will be here to help until the case is resolved.

Hello, Just now had time to read your mail. At the bottom of my screen I have a few icons. One is FTE that is giving me some trouble along with some other searches . Just cleared my history and turned off the computer. Turned it all back on and before I opened google I clicked on FTE. Did not open. Then I typed in FTE in googles search bar. Gave me a few choices to look at. At the top was FTE. Clicked on it and same thing get the screen with 1005 error. I cant try and paste it to my favorites page since it wont open. Thought I could try that, so much for that at the moment.

Hello Again, I deleted the FTE icon on my task bar. Cleared the history and turned off the computer then a restart. Typed FTE in the search bar. My options came up and clicked on FTE and it loaded up. I added it to my favorites page. Clicked out of all of my opened pages. Went to google page and clicked on favorites page then clicked on FTE got the same 1005 error. Closed out and reopened the page and went to edge. Opened favorites and clicked on FTE and I got the 1005 error again. So thats where I am at for todays update.
