Hi,

My Edge is asking for the primary password after it updated without I choose this option and I just loose all my passwords because of it.

I already tried my office 365 password, my PIN, my old password, everything ... It's just do not accept.

What can I do now? How can I reset, remove, do something to change this option?

I already tried to change my office365 password.

    Hi Vinicous,
I am Sumit here to assist you with this question.

The device password can be your Windows Hello PIN etc, except for the fact that you chose a customized password.

Nevertheless, do you have Microsoft Authenticator installed on your phone?
If not, please do so and you would be able to see all the passwords in that app.

There is technically no way to Reset primary password as it is stored locally. We would explore other options if required.

    Hello Sumit,

I also don't know my Edge Primary Password.

I do have the MS Authenticator App, and just went through my passwords list twice - and the Edge Primary Password is not there.

Edge is asking for the primary password after it updated without I choose this option

A number of users have reported the same, which might indicate that there's a bug in this function. While we wait to find out whether this is the case and that a fix will be deployed, you can try exporting your passwords. The option is on the (More options) menu next to the n saved passwords heading on the page edge://settings/passwords. You will have to enter the credentials for your Windows user account, e.g. the password or PIN you use to sign in to Windows when you start your computer.

The file that is exported contains all your saved passwords in plain text, so it should be kept in a very safe place, like your OneDrive Personal vault.

I see, thanks. That means your passwords are not lost.

Does Edge Beta also require a password? I don't think so, so please try:
