Other issues or features related to Microsoft Edge on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I am using Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Evaluation Copy Build 20221.rs_prerelease_200919-1857
I got some odd error message about edge or windows not working in side-by-side mode (I did not copy the error) when I clicked on "update now" in mysql workbench.
Edge also failed to launch from the taskbar.
I went to settings and saw I had MS Edge DEV as well as MS Edge, so I uninstalled the DEV version.
That, unfortunately, also deleted the program files for the regular version of MS Edge.
I need to reinstall edge.
When I open Chrome or FireFox and navigate to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge, the "Try now" button links to
microsoft-edge:https://microsoft.com/en-us/edge?browser=Chrome&form=MY01BV&OCID=MY01BV
This does not work, and I cannot download a file to reinstall edge.
I tried a lookup online, and I was told to run this command from powershell (admin):
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}
The command failed due to some microsoftEdge process running in the background. But I could not find this alleged process using Task Manager.
When I look at my settings -> apps, I still have Microsoft Edge 85.0.564.63 listed as an app, but clicking Modify or Uninstall causes an error (Windows cannot find c:\program files...)
How can I reinstall the Chromium version of Edge on my computer?
Thank you.

Hi Lawrence,
I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 3 year Windows Insider MVP here to help.
Can you try to install the same from this direct download link?
You'll find the installers for every current version (and a few older ones) here: Download Microsoft Edge for Business - Microsoft
There's no difference between these versions and the ones provided to ordinary users by other means.
Is this link always the "latest" x64? or is there a method to always pull latest stable? I tried swapping the uuid to "latest" but nogo.
I'd like to be able to add edge into installs of server 2016/2019 with no user interaction.
Thanks!
Edge is now working!
Thank you for the very quick and accurate answer.
