Microsoft Edge won't sync

For some reason as of a few days ago, I noticed my autofill passwords will not fill anymore. I went into my account settings, and it has "Sync" greyed out with a message saying "Couldn’t connect to the sync server. Retrying…". Nothing I do will fix it, I can't click on "Sync" and it's telling me I'm signed in just fine (shows my profile picture). Tried restarting and that didn't fix it. Tried updating and that didn't fix it. This is extremely frustrating, anyone else have this issue and find a solution?

    paste the following into the Edge address bar edge://sync-internals/. Under Environment info is the Server URL empty?

    Although I have yet to see this caused by a browser extension, you may want to check that. To do this, open Edge > go to the menu in the top-right > select Extensions > turn off each extension > close Edge > Restart. You can also get to the extensions menu by pasted this into the address bar: edge://extensions/ . If this resolves the issue, then turn on each extension one at a time until the issue returns and remove that extension.

    If that does not work, delete the Edge User Data folder: close Edge > open File Explorer and go to %localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge > delete the User Data folder > start Edge.

    If you are still having issues with the above, then run appwiz.cpl > locate Microsoft Edge > select Uninstall > visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge to reinstall Edge.
