My duplicate file finder program finds a duplicate folder/sub folders/files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application and Edge Core subfolders. Why? and are both needed or can one be deleted?

Rest assured, this is normal, and you should not remove any of those files, Edge functionality is used to generate the user interface of some of the pre-installed apps in Windows and also for many other apps installed on your PC that uses the Edge Webview 2 runtime
