Turn off plugin auto update

Anonymous
2022-04-24T23:09:10+00:00

OneNote Web Clipper disappears from context menu after update.

EDIT

I uninstalled the plugin, and reinstalled it, but this time from the Chrome plugin. It came up in context menu.

But I still have to stop it. This is ridiculous and unacceptable, things that install on my computer out of my control.

Why can't I make a plugin backup?

Why can't I restore plugin after auto update?

auto, I hate it, update = always waste my time,

how to stop it?

I have blocked all Microsoft update servers.

And I have a few more workarounds made.

I am the happy owner of such a message.

But unfortunately the plugins keep updating.

Hi Martin. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

This could actually be caused by the right click context menu which can become corrupted:

If that is not enough, all ways to control Windows Updates are Here are all ways to control Windows Updates:

In addition to those steps if you need a break you can turn off Updates by the only stable method here:

I would periodically turn them back on to get important Security and Quality Updates. Then manually install the Version Upgrades twice a year from the Media Creation Tool which is the most stable method anyway, and includes all previous Updates rolled in. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.
