Problem with Bing/Edge Default Language Settings

I have been using Bing/Edge as my primary browser for over a year now, and been happy with the results I get, as well as the speed, and importantly, the access to Bing rewards. However, over the last month or so, I have been having an issue with the language settings.

I am from Canada and speak English as my only language. For some reason when I open the browser, it has Canada-French as my Country/Region, and French as my language. This is quite annoying, because when I am doing Bing Rewards quizzes and everything, it is coming up in French, and sometimes issues with my searches as well. The "auto-translate" to English is still around, but it's wasted processing power, because it should just be English from the get-go.

When I see this, I click the settings at the top right and change the settings to English and Canada-English, and this will remain while the browser is open. BUT, when I turn off my computer and turn it back on, it defaults back to the French.

What can I do about this? Lots of wasted time changing settings again and again that are not necessary.

Sorry to hear you're having this issue. Is this happening only in Bing? If so, have you checked in Bing settings if the correct language and region are set? Go to this page https://www.bing.com/account/general and check then save it.

You may also check Edge Language settings and remove French if it is listed there. You may check it in Edge Settings > Languages. Under preferred languages, remove the French if it is listed by clicking the three dots next to it and then Remove.
