Managing tabs, address bar, and search settings in Edge on Windows 10

Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Hi. I have a problem I don't seem to be able to resolve and wonder if anyone has experienced anything similar and can help. I am using a Dell PC running Windows 10 and use The Edge browser. My Edge search engine is set to Google as default and has been running successfully this way for years. However, recently whenever I search, either in the address or the search bar, the results are immediately hijacked and switch to a Yahoo! search display, which does not satisfy my requirement at all. Why is this and how can I stop it? There is no Yahoo! listed in my “Manage Search Engine” settings and nothing relating to Yahoo! in my program files.

Please try the following methods below.
**Disable or Uninstall Edge extensions
Open Edge > Click 3 dots > Extensions
Please check if one of your Extensions is forcing your search to use Yahoo.
If this doesn't work, You may need to consider performing a Reset of Edge Chromium.
Open Edge then click 3 dots > Settings
Select Reset Settings > Restore settings to their default values
Click Reset
Restart your computer using Clean boot of Windows 10
**Perform a Clean Boot
Determine whether a background program or a software conflict is causing the issue.
Go to the search box > type msconfig
Select System Configuration > go to the Services tab.
Select and make sure to put a check mark on "Hide all Microsoft services"
Click Disable all.

Hello #JohnDeV
Thank you for helping me with this problem.
I have done as you suggested in respect of the browser extensions and removed an extension called Division Search and this seems to have resolved the basic problem. I am not sure how this extension came into being, I had just assumed it arrived on my PC with one of the recent Windows updates.
However this turns out not to be the case from what I read online. It is classified as a PUP which collects information about your browning.
Are you or any other community member aware of this extension and whether it is likely to be collecting any other information or performing some other malicious activity , even after it has now been removed?
I am very grateful for you assistance John.
Kind regards,
Andy
