Send tab to your devices, lists an additional device named Microsoft Corporation Computer Dev

I have three computers and an Android phone using the same Microsoft Account:

A Surface Pro 8 (SP8) and Surface Pro 7 (SP7), both running Windows 11 Release Preview and Edge Dev)

A desktop (Kitchen-PC) running Windows 8.1 Media Center and Edge release version

A Samsung Galaxy S21 running Android and Edge Dev

All devices are fully updated to the latest versions available of both operating system and Edge.

When I select Send tab to your devices, the list of devices includes an additional device named Microsoft Corporation Computer Dev.

This screenshot was taken on my Surface Pro 8...

This screenshot was taken on my Surface Pro 7...

This screenshot was taken on my Galaxy S21...

Edge on the Kitchen-PC also lists the device named Microsoft Corporation Computer Dev.

This is not a new issue. This additional device name has been listed for a number of updates of both Windows and Edge. If I select the Microsoft Corporation Computer Dev device as the target of a Send, the Sending message is displayed but nothing is received by any of my devices. If I select one of my legitimate/real devices, the tab is sent and received as expected.

So, can anyone please explain what the Microsoft Corporation Computer Dev device is and how to remove it from the list?

Thanks,

Tony

    Hello Tony,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

The first thing to be clear: to use the "Send tab to your devices" feature, you'll need to sign in your Microsoft account to both target devices, as shown in the image below (you'll see this prompt by using the feature in a Microsoft Edge browser that isn't signed in any Microsoft account).

According to your description, you might have logged in to your current Microsoft account on another device and have not removed the account (or been active for a long time).

Please recall patiently whether you have logged in on another device, and if so, you can log out of your Microsoft account on that device, however, it will take a few days for this setting to take effect.

Or you can visit Microsoft Account | Device to try to delete the device that has logged in to the Microsoft account.

Additionally, I looked up the relevant information and found that others have the same problem as you, you can refer to it. how i can manage the device list in "send page to device" of microsoft edge - Microsoft Q&A

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,
