Microsoft Authentication verification code doesn't work

We have a user who has tried several times to enter the verification code that appears on his phone but it doesn't work. He keeps receiving "Invalid Verification Code". He also tried to "Choose Another Verification Method" and manually added his account including the long key that was provided. He can successfully create the account but the code still doesn’t work.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

    You need to make sure the date and time on the device are correct and syncing automatically. If the date and time are wrong or out of sync, the code won't work.

    You can also try clearing your browser's cache and check if the problem persists.
