Every time I restart my desktop I lose all my settings. Its like starting over and it takes me a long time to change my settings back to the way they were? Also not getting my email notifications anymore? I turn on notifications in email and works for maybe a day and only receive one or two? What a mess !!

If I shut the computer down I don't lose anything. Only on restart when it requires you to that. Especially on updates. Please help if you had these same problems and found away to fix them. Thank you

    Hi,

Are you saying that everytime you restart your computer, Edge shows the splashscreen like it is a fresh start? Best, to send feedback and contat Windows Support @ support.microsoft.com/contactus, please type talk to agent.

Then Windows, technical support. If they can't fix it even with a remote session, then contact Edge Insider support.

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

    • What is the Version and Build of Windows 10 installed on the PC? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)
    • What is the make and model of the PC?
    • When you say, “I lose all my settings”, which setting are you referring?
    • Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?
    • How are you accessing your Email? (Mail app/Outlook app/bowser)
    • Do you have any non-Microsoft Antivirus/security program installed?

    Let us try few steps.

Step 1: Run DISM & SFC scan

We would also suggest you to run the DISM & SFC Scan tool to check if there is any windows file corruption causing this issue or are you getting any integrity violation, refer this article: System File Checker.

    Step 2:  Clean boot

Try booting your PC in clean boot. Refer to the article on How to perform a clean boot in Windows

**Note:**Clean Boot starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program. Also, you may not be able to use some programs in clean boot.

If performing a clean boot fixes the issue then, please refer to the section How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean boot to check which program is causing the issue.

Note: Please refer the section Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting to boot the computer in to normal mode after troubleshooting.

Let us know the results. If the issue persists, we will certainly assist you further.
