Why is ms edge's theme changing automatically?

I am using a dual booted setup of kubuntu and windows 11. The problem is on my kubuntu OS. I am using Kubuntu alongside Kvantum(layan theme) and latte dock. Using kvantum most applications are themed but for ms edge i specifically set it to the light theme in the appearance settings. However, everytime i open a new window of ms edge, it reverts back to the darker Kvantum based theme(although it shows in the appearance settings that its using the light theme). This is a huge problem for me as i have to manually set it to the light theme again and again.
Is there any solution to this problem?
