Website Opening issue

Hello,

There is a website I use often or I did before Edge stopped opening it.

When I try to open the website Edge give me the following garbage.

"Hmmm… can't reach this page

It looks like ddddddddd.dd closed the connection.

Try:

Checking the connection

Checking the proxy and the firewall

ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED

Refresh"

I put "d" instead of website name.

I can open site fine in every other browser but if I try edge it always fails.

I reset edge had no extensions and it still wont open from edge.

I even ran sfc /scannow tro check for issues.

Ran antivirus and windows defender all clear.

Even Checked the host file to be on safe side on nothing.

Site is added to safe list as well in Anti Virus.

Does anyone have any idea how or why edge no longer opens the site?

And is there any way to fix it?

Thanks

    Hello,

Ok I tried what you said and it did not work.

I then tried it again after I reset edge again and it did not work.

I then reset it back to my normal settings.

I searched the Forums on Microsoft and see issue as affecting many users all using different websites.

It seems the issue is a Microsoft Edge issue and is not fixable as it is edge causing it.

I will give it another week or two and if not fixed I will change browser and not use edge any longer.

Thanks for your help and time.

You can close this ticket as nothing we try will work as some threads on Community have tried lots of things.

    Thanks again

My bad, apologies for that. Please try this:

    1. Press the Windows+R keys on the keyboard, or Right-click Start on the Taskbar and choose Run.

    Type ncpa.cpl

    Press Enter.

    1. Right-click your device and select Properties.
    2. Double click IPv4 options to open IPv4 properties.
    3. Select the ""Use the following DNS servers"" radio box, and enter the following in the addresses.

    1.1.1.1

    1.1.2.2

    1. Click OK and OK again.

    Restart your computer.

Please keep me posted, and Good luck!

    Hello,

    Thanks for the fast reply.

If you read my post I had already done that and more.

The site worked before but stopped working several Edge updates ago.

Its been a month maybe 2 since it stopped working on the website.

    Thanks

    Hi Grendor,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. I am happy to help you today.

Let us try Resetting Edge Settings to defaults using the steps below, in the hope it helps.

Click on the three-dot menu button on the right.

    Click on Settings.

    Click on Reset settings.

Click on Restore settings to their default values.

    Click on Reset.

2nd step: Sometimes extensions on the web browser might cause unintended behaviour. Please click the three dots menu again, and choose extensions.

    Click Manage extensions.

Disable all of them for testing purposes, and let me know if it works.
