Persistent McAfee notice/ad

HELP! I keep getting a McAfee virus notice (popup ad) and I can't find what's triggering it. I do not have McAfee installed. I have purged programs. I have purged the registry for "McAfee". On the ad I see a string of characters and “.jwepre.co.in”. I tried to purge that from the registry too, but I may have missed something. Does anyone know what this is and how to kill it?

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Those McAfee popups are usually caused by your web browser.

Open Edge.

Click the 3 dots at the top right to open Edge Settings.

On the left, click 'Cookies and Site Permissions'.

On the right, open Notifications (Ask First).

Delete all entries in there for websites to create notifications on your PC.
