Microsoft Edge is part of the Windows and when you reinstall Windows, then Microsoft Edge is already installed.
Even if you want to install other browser, you will need to visit a website to do that and for that you need to use Microsoft Edge.
Could one reinstall windows to fix this?
Microsoft Edge is part of Windows and you couldn't completely remove it.
However, you may set a different browser as default one and delete its shortcut icon.
