cyclic redundancy check error

Hi everyone.

Can anyone be able to give an answer to the above question, it is an external drive that i am having a problem with some of the data are back up files that i want to get rid of and keep the latest back up.

any help appreciated.

    Hi Dave.

    Thanks for your reply. Yes, I can copy paste files, there are just some old backup files that I want to remove but they show that error and cannot be deleted from the drive, I keep backups on this drive and was doing some routine file update maintenance.

    Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this

    The cyclic redundancy check error. on a drive usually indicates hardware failure on a drive, are you able to access that drive and can you copy files to or from that drive?
