Teams Desktop App for Mac Not Auto-Updating

A staff member at my organization noticed a gray banner in his Teams app for Mac window stating ''Update in 20 days to continue using the app" and a link was provided to download the latest version. The staff member was on version 1.3.00.9271, while all other staff had been updated to 1.3.00.33671 either automatically or by checking for updates in the app.

We were able to download the latest version through that banner link and the staff member is on the latest version. My question is how are the automatic updates pushed? The staff user doesn't open Teams often and only for meetings. Could that affect how updates are pushed?

    Hi @WilliamM

To make sure Teams automatically updates, install the application in the default location: user\Appdata.

If you join meeting via Teams client, don't worry about it! the Teams client auto-updates every two weeks. Because Teams is governed by the Modern Lifecycle Policy, it's expected that users remain on the most up-to-date version of the desktop client. This ensures that users have the latest capabilities, performance enhancements, security, and service reliability.
