Downloads not going into Downloads folder but into MicrosoftEdge temporary downloads folder

It's so frustrating, as none of my downloads are ever fully saved unless I do it manually. In Edge, they are set to download to the Downloads folder. Why do they keep downloading to this other folder? How can I change it?

When was the last time it worked properly? Have you made any changes to your computer recently?

Please try the following methods below.

    Disable or Uninstall Edge extensions

Open Edge > Click 3 dots > Extensions

Please check if one of your extensions is causing the issue

If the issue still persists, you may need to consider performing a Reset of Edge Chromium.

Open Edge then click 3 dots > Settings

Select Reset Settings > Restore settings to their default values

    Click Reset

    Restart your computer

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns by clicking the "Reply" button at the end of my response. I will appreciate it.

    Kind regards,

Hello, I have the SAME issue as the OP. Brand new laptop, migrating over and signing in from an existing Enterprise 365 account. I have had other syncing issues but specifically to the Microsoft EDGE issue, I have set the Downloads location, restored, reset, restarted. All of the above. Multiple times. It still goes into a temporary EDGE folder.

    I am on Windows 11 24H2.

    All Microsoft applications are up-to-date.

My downloads all end up here: C:\Users~~\AppData\Local\Temp\MicrosoftEdgeDownloads~~

Frustrating and defeats the purpose of using OneDrive.
