I had a Windows 10 Pro 64bit (version 1909) and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 (32bit) . And the file explorer enabled the "Preview pane" . When click on the excel files (not opening it) , it prompts the error message "Not enough memoryto run Microsoft Excel. Please close other applications and try again."

The PC is an new one which had 16GB RAM already.

I had tried to uninstall and re-install the Office , and also following the method of editing setting in excel or office applications. But didn't help

    Finally I got the solution . I just deleted below keys in the Regedit and the problem solved.

    • Backup and export the keys before delete them
      Which the keys are:

    · Microsoft Excel previewer: - Delete following key in regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\ {00020827-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
    · Microsoft PowerPoint previewer: - Delete following key in regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\ {65235197-874B-4A07-BDC5-E65EA825B718}
    · Microsoft Word previewer: - Delete following key in regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\ {84F66100-FF7C-4fb4-B0C0-02CD7FB668FE}
    · Microsoft Visio previewer: - Delete following key in regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\ {21E17C2F-AD3A-4b89-841F-09CFE02D16B7}
