Remove Bing.

I have read every message and idea I can find. Bing just does not leave me. I followed the instructions very carefully. Even restarted the PC after. But Bing continues to haunt me. I do NOT want Bing on my PC at all. I must remove it. It is extremely annoying. Like I said. I've gone through all the suggestions and ideas I can find. Including the obvious. But the menu only shows DuckDuckGo as my default. And yet, Edge only shows Bing. I can't even get Edge to open with DuckDuckGo. No matter what I do, Edge only shows Bing.

I've tried "Open the Edge browser > go to Settings > Privacy, search and services > Address bar and search > Select your desired search engine for 'Search engine used in the address bar' and select 'address bar' below it. Then, click on Manage search engines and remove Bing from the list. Restart your browser."

That did not work. I can not "remove Bing". There is no option to do so. Only edit. And that won't change the URL.

    Hello ,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

Firstly, could you let me know the specific system version (OS Build)? You can check it by pressing Win + X > System > Windows specifications*, click “Copy” and paste it in your next reply*.

You can remove the search engine in the settings of Microsoft Edge browser (Provided that the search engine to be removed is not the current default search engine).

I tried to install the program according to the official installation steps of DuckDuckGo, and then in the Microsoft Edge browser I can normally select DuckDuckGo as the default search engine, as shown in the image below.

You can follow the steps below:

    1. Repair the Microsoft Edge browser "Win" logo key + "I" open Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Microsoft Edge > Modify > Repair*.*
    2. Disable other plug-ins with similar functionality in the Microsoft Edge browser, as well as other applications with similar functionality installed within the system. Image _
    3. Reinstall the DuckDuckGo by following the steps provided by the DuckDuckGo.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

Before removing this search engine, you need to set the other search engine as the default one.

Clicking on the "More option" next to the default search engine does not give you the option to "Delete".

There is NO way to delete Bing nor Edge. They are set in concrete by Microsoft.
