Managing profiles and sync in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10

So I am buying a new laptop, and I've looked through anything I want to save but I saw this feature.
How does it work?
Does it still work if the old laptop is Windows 10, and the new one is Windows 11? And does it work if the Microsoft account is shared?

Hi anonymouspersonok,
I am Dave, I will help you with this.
if you log into the old Windows10 device with a Microsoft Account and log into Edge with that same Microsoft Account all your Edge settings, Favourites, passwords,,, etc, will be synced to your Microsoft Account, then on the new PC log into Edge with the same Microsoft Account and they will sync to Edge on that device.
Rest assured, it does not matter if the old device is Windows10 and the new one is Windows 11, you just need to enable Profile Sync in the Edge browse settings on the old device before moving to the new device.
The sync process may not work in that situation, it may sync other peoples data from their accounts too, it is unusual for more then one persona to share a Microsoft Account login.
No, I mean I want it to sync to the new device, but however the laptop I use shares a singular Microsoft account with other devices (people I know) using the same email.
Do you not want your Edge profile to sync between devices?
What if a singular Microsoft account is used separately on different devices?
