In order to facilitate file sharing with a newly acquired tablet, I would like to connect to it via LAN using its IP address. SN appears to prevent this. When trying to disable SN, the option is greyed out and shows the following tooltip:

Now, my browser isn't actually managed by any organization, nor does Edge display that it is ever since I implemented this solution. Accordingly, there are no policies enabled:

So what do I need to do to disable SN?

    Dear User,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand you’re having issues with the Microsoft Edge Secure Network feature.

    1. Enable/Disable the Edge Secure Network:
      • Open Microsoft Edge and click on the Browser Essentials icon (shield with a check mark).
      • Toggle the Edge Secure Network to "On" or "Off." Refresh the page or restart the browser to apply changes.
    2. Troubleshooting Steps:
      • Ensure a stable internet connection; reset your router if necessary.
      • Check extensions by disabling/removing suspicious ones under Settings > Extensions.
      • Clear your browser cache under Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data (back up important data first).
      • Reset Edge to default settings under Settings > Reset settings > Restore settings to their default values (back up personal preferences before proceeding).

If these steps don't resolve the issue, please do not hesitate to contact us for further assistance.

    Thank you for choosing Microsoft.

Yours sincerely, vats_arrow | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

I know how to turn off Secure Network, it's just that I can't. Clearing my cache and uninstalling extensions hasn't done anything. I don't want to go though the trouble of resetting my preferences given that this is almost certainly not going to stop Edge from thinking it is being "managed by my organization" despite not showing any active policies. I have also manually deleted the registry entries under "...\Policies\Microsoft\MicrosoftEdge" to no avail.

I understand your issue and want to clarify that you cannot make the necessary changes yourself. However, the best solution for you right now would be to contact your organization to get it resolved.
