Too many processes

As stated before when I sign on to my laptop I open task manager and it usually shows 15-20edge working and 10-15 Chrome (where I see my outlook emails.)

The net result at that time is 95-100% usage so I delete/stop these and then when I go onto edge it will again show multiple processes with high usage. Is there no way to help with this issue?

Unfortunately at my age (76) I cannot figure out how to do this so I will just forget about this issue.

    Thanks for trying

And now please go to Performance tam and show screenshot with CPU selected and Memory selected.

Then run Process Explorer https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/... sort data by CPU column and show a screenshot too.

    Hi Tom,

Both Edge and Chrome are based on Chromium base. So, these browsers use many processes by design instead of many threads in a single process.

As for the usage, please show a screenshot.

    Hi,

Sounds like you have many tabs open and running at the same time. The two ways to remediate it would be have fewer tabs open or upgrade the memory on your laptop (assuming the utilization you were referring to was memory and not CPU). Probably not the answer you were hoping for but not sure there is much else you can do other than run a smaller load on your PC.
