Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Hi,
So edge is crashing. In fact it crashed four times as I tried to write this. This is very frustrating as I have essays to write. So when I went into edge's settings, and looked for an update this is what it said:
An error occurred while checking for updates: Unable to connect to the Internet. If you use a firewall, please allow list MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe. (error code 7: 0x80072EFD -- system level).
I went into my firewall, and allowed edge, but could not find MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe.
So yeah, what do I do,

Huj, strange, it worked this time. Thank you
Try restarting your PC then run that Edge installer again, if there is an installation running in the background that will clear it.
Hi Dave,
Yeah nope that didnt work. A popup came up when I tried to download that says:
Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one.
I cannot remeber what that one is though.
Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.
The best option is to download the offline installer for Edge and use that to install the latest version of Edge on top of itself to try to stabilize Edge.
