Out of memory error on certain websites after edge updated to Version 131.0.2903.63 (Official build) (64-bit)

Websites that were working fine until I just updated windows, are showing error. I can't share the link because it's the product edit page on blendermarket.com

I have 96GB RAM, with around 85GB available at the time of the error appearing. I do notice however that the websites that cause this error are causing a large increase in system RAM usage. Usually a website uses less than 1GB, but these website that no longer work are causing the memory usage to skyrocket:

    Hello,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Microsoft Answers Community.

Based on the description, it seems that there may be an issue with the site itself, or the installed extensions.

Please select your profile icon in Edge, and select "Set up new personal profile". It should open a new Edge window. Close the original Edge window, and view that page in the new window. Does the "out of memory" error also occurrs?

If the issue also occurs, please try using an insider version of Edge, or another browser (like Chrome or Firefox), and see whether the issue also appears.

We look forward to your response.

Thanks Sheng. It turns out there were two problems:

    1. Me. I uploaded html with embedded images in string format, this was causing the webpage to need a lot more memory memory than just linking to the images on the websites server.
    2. Edge is reporting out of memory when I'm not out of memory. Is there a way to modify the amount of RAM Edge is limited to use?

    Cheers

    Michael

There was no problem with the website, the issue was me uploading images in html format rather than linking to them.

There does however appear to be an issue with Edge reporting out of memory when there is plenty available (nearly 90GB in my case).

    Cheers
    Michael

    Hello,

Edge has a memory management system on its own; when a tab occupies too much memory, it will terminate that tab. Currently there is no way to change that limit.

Microsoft attaches great importance to user experience, you can submit your ideas and suggestions through the Feedback Hub, and the development team will regularly review submissions for ideas or fixes.

Please share the feedback link here after submitting as it will allow others on the forum to vote for your submission, including me. More votes will lead to more visibility and higher priority to the development team.

You may submit feedback in the Microsoft Edge browser as well. Open the page in the Microsoft Edge browser, then press Alt+Shift+I (or select menu->Help and feedback->Send feedback) to open the feedback window.

It will capture the current screen, the URL link, and your e-mail address. From there, you can enter the issue, attach files to further explain it, and send the feedback.

    Best Regards,
