Managing tabs, address bar, and search settings in Edge on Windows 10

I find tabs incredibly frustrating my workflow often requires that I am using the content of multiple different webpages in parallel (it's why I have multiple monitors). As such, every single time I click on a link and it opens a new tab, I'm forced to then go to the tab bar and drag the tab out into a new window. Depending on what I'm working on I may be doing this 50+ times per hour. It's an unbelievable waste of time and productivity.
My question is, how do I stop Edge from using tabs entirely?

Hi,
Not sure what you mean, as far as I'm aware, I haven't even been asked if your reply was helpful or unhelpful.
As far as I can tell, the only question the forum automatically asks is "Did this reply solve your problem?". And unfortunately, as per our discussion above, it appears that there isn't a solution to the problem at the moment.
All the best
Hi,
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.
I'm not sure why, but the feedback option within Edge appears to be disabled for me. Perhaps something set up by the company admin? Is there any other route for providing feedback? Or adding my vote to someone else's request? I'm sure I can't be the first person to wish that tabs didn't exist.
Holding down the shift key is an option, and certainly faster than the click and drag approach. But still very far from ideal.
Many thanks

Hi, Phil887
Welcome to the Microsoft community.
Edge currently does not have a built-in option to automatically open all links in a new window. Please use Alt+Shift+I to directly provide feedback to the developers about your request and wait for them to add this feature to improve your experience.
In the meantime, you can temporarily use the method of holding down the Shift key while clicking links to open them in a new window as a workaround.
Best regards
