Cannot cancel changes in the PDF

Question

I found that if I draw on a PDF in Edge and close the PDF without saving it, I will have the discarded changes in the PDF even though I did not choose to save these changes. This bothers me a lot.

I remembered that in the past, if I close the PDF without saving it, I will have a clean and unchanged PDF in the next time I opened it.

What can I do to make Edge NOT REMEMBER the changes that I DID NOT SAVE in the PDF reader???????

Hello!

I'm having the same problem, not good. Renaming the pdf file did work but I have a different situation where the file needs to use the same name as before- renaming it is not an option for me. Given all my files are organised, changing its location is not an available option for me either. I am not sure what I should do. In advance, I definitely appreciate any help on this, thanks!

My Edge version is 114.0.1823.43. I did not see the problem a week ago. Therefore I guess this problem is because of some updates of Edge and Windows. I use Windows11 and I installed KB5027231 as well as KB5027119 today.

However, I never enabled this option. I try to enable it, then disable it and restart Edge, but this problem still persists.

I understand that changes made to PDF files in Edge are automatically saved;

Initially I recommend that you try to disable the option "Always download PDF files";

Open Edge and go to Settings;

Click Cookies and Site Permissions;

Scroll down and click Documents in PDF;

Disable "Always download PDF files";

Restart Edge and check if the problem still persists;
