This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Prevent Edge browser loading previous tabs. W11 Pro 64bit Tried changing settings to start with new tab. Also tried to get it to load specific Tabs. Always then load tons of old tabs. Re-install does nit help. MS security checker ran OK, but Edge continues to load previous flippin tabs. I note it says Edge is controlled by organization. there has never been an organzation anywhere near me, my flat, nor my flippin PC. It is driving me crazy. Pity as for once in my life I was getting to like Edge.

Dear RobertCrombie
I am glad to receive your reply.
Regarding your question, it is recommended that you tap - three dots in the upper right corner - Reset Settings - to restore the settings to their default values.
Option 2: You can login to the following website to download the BETA version of EDGE Browser. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/download/insider?form=MA13FJ
Hope the above information can help you.

Thanks for persisting Shawn.
Went for your option 2 (chose Monthly)
It actually creates a separate 'Program' entry, which is even better than my request for a portable version.
So far so good - appears to be working fine
Thanks again,
Rob
Thanks,
I have done as you described.
After restart of windows, that entry has now gone from the Registry.
Cannot tell if Edge still thinks the Org is running things, as that msg only appeared out of thin air on a couple of occasions (it came from I know not where).
Unfortunately it has not solved my problem of Edge restoring tabs from deeper/longer history.
If I decide to try portable versions of Edge, do you have any suggestions ?
Thanks for your time,
Rob
Dear RobertCrombie
Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.
Based on your description, it appears that you have configured EDGE's group policy due to what you thought was
Given the following steps, you can manually remove these group policies, restart your computer, and restore EDGE to its preset values.
Press WIN+R and type regedit - locate the computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\MicrosoftEdge\
Delete this item. Restart the WINDOWS computer.
Your Group Policy on EDGE will be deleted.
Then you can just set the preset tab of EDGE to the new tab.
