The two policies that are set in Edge are nothing bad. Per the picture, MetricsReportingEnabled and SendSiteInfoToImproveServices are both disabled.

Have you run any sort of privacy software like ShutUp10++ DoNotSpy11 etc ?

If you'd like to remove the policies and you've not run software like the above:

  • Type powershell into search then right click on Windows Powershell and run as administrator.
  • Copy and paste in the following command -> press enter: reg delete HKCU\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge /f;reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge /f; reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Microsoft\Edge /f

Click Reload Policies on the edge://policy page.

Run this command in admin Powershell:

reg delete HKCU\Software\Policies\Google\Chrome /f;reg delete HKLM\Software\Policies\Google\Chrome /f;reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Google\Chrome /f

If Chrome is running click Reload Policies on the chrome://policy page.

I wish there were a way for me to thank you appropriately. I have struggled with this daily exasperation and feeling overwhelmed for over a year. I watched too many useless YouTube tutorials, read 20 or more over-my-head technical directions for removing registry keys, and concentrated on irrelevant Chrome and Microsoft enterprise and administrator directions. I was nearly in tears, and I asked friends or the school's IT department for help - no one could help me but you. And it was so easy. I didn't have to buy software found on numerous Google searches, which lured me to believe it was a virus. Thank you wholeheartedly. I send you the best Karma life can offer. You didn't have to help. And you did.

But why did it happen? Can I see when it started?

    Thank you!

Thank you so very much. It worked! I appreciate it! How can I remove the Chrome "Managed by your organization"? Why did it, too, happen? Is it linked somehow to Microsoft "Managed by your organization"? Chrome Management Image. Gosh, I hope your magic works for this thorn in my eye. Thank you!

Copy and paste edge://policy into the address bar and press enter.

Post a screenshot of the policies.
