    Hi Carol O1

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community

I understand your problem. Copilot on the taskbar disappeared. Please correct me if I misunderstood.

    Check the Group Policy settings

Press Win + R, enter gpedit.msc and press Enter to open the Group Policy Editor.

Navigate to User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Copilot.

Make sure that the "Turn off Windows Copilot" policy is set to "Not Configured" or "Disabled"

    Check the registry settings

Press Win + R, enter regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.

    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsCopilot.

If the TurnOffWindowsCopilot key exists, set its value to 0 or delete the key.

Disclaimer: Modifying the registry or workgroup is usually for advanced users, administrators, and IT professionals. It can help fix some problems, but improper registry modification can cause serious problems. Therefore, be sure to follow the steps below carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before modifying it. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry refer to: How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support

Contact me if you need anything else.

    Best wishes
