Had trojans removed in safe mode with restore off using Norton 2009. I will look at the link and try it.

Every time I boot up I get the NTVDM error message. When I log on to a different user I also get that message. I looked in Microsoft support and it suggested that I check the autoexec.nt and config.nt files. I did and the date was 2004 on both and the file sizes were a match and I compared the files with what was on the support site under NTVDM errors and they matched. One time when I looked in task manager I saw WOWEXEC.exe running with zero memory allocation along with MSINF16H.exe no memory usage and then NTVDM.exe using some memory. Nothing has been installed recently (within the last year) except M.S. Office 2007.

What is the malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?
