windows xp screen resolution keeps changing

My screen resolution keeps changing back to basic settinngs on restart, and I loose all the higher level of settings.

When I reinstall the driver it works again until I reboot the computer.

I'm logged in as administartor.

I have the latest drivers.

Short of doing a full install of XP I'm at a loss.

    I had the same problem, but on windows 7...for me it was a windows update VIA - Display - VIA Chrome9 HC IGP Family WDDM i removed this using revo uninstaller and now have no problems.

    I now watch very carefully what windows trys to update!
