causing windows to prematurely shut down, when the comp boots up, error message says that this is not found c:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\afedovug.dll .  this is on windows 7

That file, afedovug.dll, doesn’t ring true to me, particularly its location.

I suggest you boot to Safe Mode (tap F8 when you switch on), run your antivirus program and then download the free Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from herehttp://www.malwarebytes.org/
