I am having problems with the above as well. Did you come up with an answer?
Receiving error message that the printer has timed out when I try to access it over the network.
Printer problems with Windows 7
I have Windows 7 professional and I am having a problem with a HP 7350 printer. It is on a XP machine and I am sharing it. I can see it and install it but when I go to print it times out with the spooler. I checked HP and they suggested a different driver but since it is shared and actually on the XP machine I cannot change the driver on my Windows 7 machine. Any ideas???
Update I was able to update the driver to the one suggested by HP and now I can print but it does not print everything on the page. For example, the test page printed without the colored emblem in the top. Another page printed without the border on it

2009-12-08T01:30:54+00:00 I am sorry I mistyped. I did install the Deskjet 5550 driver. I also tried uninstalling it and reinstalled it just in case it did not get installed correctly. Any other ideas? I sure hate to buy a new printer when this one works okay on the XP machine.

2009-12-07T20:10:58+00:00 Hi LucyBanks,
Your last post states that - “I changed the driver from the HP Photosmart 7350 to the DeskJet 5500 suggested for Windows 7 by HP”
I would request you to make sure whether you have installed the compatible drivers for DeskJet 5500 or DeskJet 5550. As the link for Hp support suggests you will have to install the drivers for DeskJet 5550.
Check the link for HP support for compatible drivers for HP Photosmart 7350 -http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01796821&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=72886
Hope this helps. Let us know the results.
Thanks,

2009-12-07T00:06:29+00:00 Unfortunately I did reset the spooler but it did not help. It will print but so far it seems some of the graphics on the pages do not print. When running the printer page it will not print your logo. On another page I tried to print it will not print the border. Any other ideas? I changed the driver from the HP Photosmart 7350 to the Deskjet 5500 suggested for Windows 7 by HP.

Thanks for posting in Microsoft answers!
I’d suggest you to reset the print spooler service and check if that fixes the issue.
Refer the link below for details:
Fix printing problems by resetting the print spooler**http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2000007**
To automatically reset the print spooler, click the Fix this problem link. Then, click Run now button from the Automated Troubleshooting Services page and follow the steps in this wizard.
Let us know if this fixes the issue or for further assistance.
