Windows Installer Package error

While trying to install Verizon FIOS Media Manager I received the following error message: "Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A script required for theis install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personner or package vendor.  Custom action Vista VirtualFix script error - 2146828212, Microsoft Vista. "

    I had no problem loading the latest Java update just before I received this message. Tried to run the Windows Installer cleanup utility, I received another error:  Script: C:\Users\Dad\AppData\Local\Temp\IXP000.TMP\StartMsi.Vbs, Line 17, Char: 1, Error Permission Denied, Code 800A0046, Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error.

Hi trocky1,

To get rid of this error, I would suggest you to install the latest version of Windows Installer which you can download it from the link:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5a58b56f-60b6-4412-95b9-54d056d6f9f4&displaylang=en
