Windows Update error code 652

Op: error code 652

i have tryed to update my windows vista many times now, i get a error code 652 and it seems i cant fix it, can some one help?

**Hi arildo65,**What are the updates you are having issues with?

Step 1:

Try to download and install the standalone package of the updates from the Microsoft Download center and check if you come across the error.

Put the KB number of the update in the below link to find them:

Step 2:

You may also put the computer in a clean boot state and then try to install updates.

a. Putting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. If yes, you may have to contact the program manufacturer for any updates or uninstall and re-install the program.

b. Refer the following Microsoft KB article for more information on how to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7:

Note: After troubleshooting, make sure to put the computer to start as usual as mentioned in Step 7 in the above KB article.

Step 3:

If the issue still persists, you may try resetting windows update and then check again.

Note: Run the fix it first. If that fails to run, then use the manual steps.

Running a new Dell xps8500 64bit i5 wth Windows7. No matter what I do, I cannot resolve error Code 652.  When I click the link there are over a dozen articles. I have tried the wizard and it says "problem fixed" yet each time I go to download updates I get the same error code. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
