FixExe worked perfectly, thanks a ton.
Program files won't open after system restore.
So I was having some problems with my computer (spyware-related) and performed a system restore. I'd done this before without any problems, so I wasn't too concerned. I used a restore point from two days before, and executed it. Everything seemed fine until the system restarted. None of the icons in the lower right hand corner appeared, and every time I tried to open a program by clicking on its icon, I get a pop-up saying it's an unknown file type and offering me a list of programs to open with. For example, if I try to open Internet Explorer, I'm given a list of programs I want to open "iexplore.exe" with: Internet Explorer, Itunes, Notepad, Paint, etc. I don't know if I should do another system restore to an earlier point, completely reinstall Windows (which I don't want to do for fear of losing everything), or what. Any help would be kindly appreciated.
