I need to be able to transfer my wife's emails from an account we've jointly shared to her own account on the same computer. I know how to save one at at time; how do I save a bunch at once?

Assuming you are using either Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail.

I'll use Windows Mail for example .......

Open your e-mail program > set up a folder with your wife's name under Inbox >  open the folder where both e-mails are kept > pressCtrl key and HOLD > select your wife's emails by clicking them, one at a time, until you are done. You should notice that the selected e-mails are 'shaded'. When all your wife's mails are selected, release HOLD > right click on one of those ' shaded " e-mails, anyone > clickMove to Folder > navigate to and click your wife's folder > clickMOVEAll your wife's e-mails are now in her own folder.

Almost the same method to be used for Windows Live Mail. The only difference is that you navigate to your wife's own Inbox > then click MOVE.

Here's how to do it in Vista's Windows Mail program, and it's basically the same in any mail program.

First, select the messages that you want to transfer:

  • To select all of the messages in a folder, press CTRL+A .
  • To select several consecutive messages, click the first one, then hold down the Shift key and click the last one.
  • To select non-consecutive messages, hold down the CTRL key while you click each one.

Then save/transfer them as usual.
