Hi tarozero,

I need to know some details before proceeding.

1.      When exactly do you get this error?

2.      Do you get this error when playing games or while working on any other application?

3.      What is the Operating System installed on your computer?

This usually happens if the software installed on the computer is not compatible.

Method 1:  Check for the compatibility of this software/application with Operating System installed on your computer. To check for its compatibility, visit the following links.

For Windows Vista:Windows Vista Compatibility Center

For Windows 7:Windows 7 Compatibility Center

Method 2:  If it is compatible, you may place the computer in a clean boot state and check if the issue persists. To do so, follow these steps.

a)      Click Start, type “msconfig.exe” (without quotes) in the Start Search box, and then press Enter to start the System Configuration Utility. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.

b)      On the General tab, click Selective Startup, and then click to clear the Load startup items check box. (The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.)

c)      On the Services tab, click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all. Click OK, and then click Restart. Install the programs and check if the issue persists.

**Note:**Make sure you put the computer back to Normal Startup once troubleshooting is completed.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

**Method 3:**Check to see if you the latest Windows Updates installed. Refer the below mentioned article for the same.

For Windows Vista:Install Windows updates

For Windows 7:Install Windows updates

**Method 4:**If you get this error while on any game, then check on the manufacturer website if there are any patches available for the same.
