Hi twomonkeys,

Welcome to Windows 7 Answers Forums!

Method 1: First you may try the following steps to make sure the mouse pointer is not hidden while typing.

1)    Open Mouse Properties by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type mouse, and then click Mouse.

2)    Click the Pointer Options tab, and

3)    To make the pointer easier to find when you move it, under Visibility, select the Display pointer trails check box, and then move the slider toward Short or Long to decrease or increase the length of the pointer trail.

4)    Under Visibility, select the Hide pointer while typing uncheck the box.

5)    Click OK.

Method 2: If it is a recent issue that has come up you can try performing a system restore and check if it works fine.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

1.        Click Start, type system restore in the Start Search box, and then click System Restore in the Programs list. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

2.        In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click Next.

3.        In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click Next.

4.        Click Finish.

Note: When you perform System Restore to restore the computer to previous state, programs and updates you installed are removed.
