OneDrive Mac Sync Shared Folder

We have a user who is trying to Sync a shared folder. It pops up and says that the folder is unable to sync at this time. We have done a OneDrive reset, complete OneDrive uninstall and reinstall. But the same message pops up each time.
I noticed when we open the shared folder online there is a new option for a "Shortcut". Will that work the same as syncing the OneDrive shared folder?

    Where is this shared folder stored? On this mac computer, on the sharepoint site or on other locations?
