Ideas:Trying to uninstall Microsoft winter funpack 2004 for XP, I have gone to uninstall it in the control panel and goes through the process but comes up with error 1713 and says "Error 1713 >Microsoft Winter Fun Pack 2004 for windows xp cannot install one of its required products. Contact your technical support group." I have never had XP on this computer and did not install this program I recently switched from vista to windows 7, I had this program on vista and again never installed it myself i would like to know how to uninstall this program from my laptop.

Using Windows installer cleanup utility you should be able to remove the installation program of Windows XP power toy.

 Download the utility from:

 http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

When running Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, select Microsoft winter funpack 2004 for XP from the Installed Products list in the Windows Installer CleanUp dialog box, select Remove to remove all Windows Installer information associated with the selected program. This includes the entries for the programs in the Add Or Remove Programs item in Control Panel. Be aware that only the Installer information for that particular program is removed, not the files.

Note: If you use this utility to remove Windows Installer configuration information for your program and you plan to reinstall the program, you should reinstall the program in the same folder where you originally installed it. This prevents duplication of files on your hard disk or disks.

Unfortunately I am not comfortable with my computer abilities to delete entries. What is another way to remove this program?

You may try to remove the registry entry manually. To do so, follow the steps given below.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

First you might need to run the .reg file using the registry keys given below.

a)     Copy the set of instructions in a notepad file

b)     Select ‘Save As...’ option and save it as .reg file

c)      Run the file by double clicking

Step 2:

a)     Once the file has run you need to check if there are any traces of the program in the below given location in registry.

b)     Click on Start

c)      In the Start Search Bar type ‘regedit’

d)     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders

e)     In the right-pane, delete the values relating to Winter Fun Pack 2004

f)          Exit Registry Editor

Step 3:

Also need to delete signatures of the same program from Microsoft Outlook

a)     Start Microsoft Outlook

b)     In the Tools menu, click Options

c)      Go to Mail Format tab

d)     Select Signatures

e)     SelectMP Song Signature and click Remove

Note: The options in different versions on Microsoft Outlook might be different, the above given steps are for Microsoft Outlook 2007

Now check if the program is uninstalled.
