Synapse Studio Access control - "Add" button disables

Hello,

I'm trying to add a service principal as a Synapse Contributor, but when I go to Manage -> Access Control in Synapse Studio "Add" button is disabled. The user I'm logged in with is Synapse Administrator. Are there any additional permissions I need to be able to grant others access to the workspace?

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum and thanks for your query.

In Synapse Studio, specific buttons or options may be grayed out or a permissions error may be returned when attempting an action if you don't have the required permissions.

If a button or option is disabled, hovering over the button or option shows a tooltip with the required permission.
Could you please double check if the user logged in with has Synapse Administrator role at workspace scope (not Workspace Item)? Please refer to this doc : How to review Synapse RBAC role assignments

If the user logged in has Synapse Administrator role assigned at Workspace scope, could you please share a screenprint of it so that I can double check on it internally.

Thank you @KranthiPakala-MSFT for your response! I do have Synapse Administrator access for Workspace - see the screenshot attached.
And when I hover over disabled "Add" button I only see the 'forbidden' icon - no text, no explanation

I am also experiencing the same issue as indicated on the diagram iren-2766 has shared. However was able to assign the permissions a few weeks ago. To confirm I am the owner of the resource and the creator of this synapse instance.

Have also tried to create another instance and facing the same issue.

Can you please advise?

I don't know if it helps, but it might be an issue with location? I created a new workspace in UK South (I think following the same steps) - and in that workspace I can manage access.
The initial workspace, were I still can't manage access, is in West US 2

Thanks for sharing the additional details. Even I tried to reproduce the issue you are experiencing but no luck. I was able to manage access with a test user.
Could you please check if the user having manage access issue has multiple entries (same user name) in your tenant Active Directory?

Thanks for getting back to me! I only have 1 user, but it's multi-tenant user, could that be the problem?

Sorry for your experience with this issue.

I had a conversation with internal team and got to know that there was a similar issue reported a week ago and a hot fix was deployed to resolve the issue and others users have confirmed that it was resolved and were able to access the Add button after clearing browser cache and refreshing it.

Please try below steps and let us know if the issue still persists.

Please clear your browser cache and refresh/reload the browser and see if your were able to access Add button under Manage-> Access Control

Incase of Step 1 doesn’t resolve the issue, please give a try in Incognito mode and let us know how it goes.
