Run the Command Prompt with elevated or administrative privileges.

  1. Click the Start button .
  2. In the Search box, type command prompt.
  3. In the list of results (top), right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

When I try to do certain commands in command prompt I get this. For instance: net user Guest /add

I am the computer administrator so it would be helpful to have the power to do what I want on command.

    Hi,

When exactly are you getting this error message?

Is it when you try to run some application or does this appear when you boot to desktop?

How long have you been receiving these error messages?

Have you made any changes to your operating system prior to these errors?

Any new software/hardware installed or any new Windows Updates?

There are many instances where you get this generic error message on Windows based computers. We need a clear picture to diagnose this issue and please put it across in your next reply.

    Regards

    Sreekanth.
