I'm not very computer lit. and am self-taught, so please bear with me.  I'm trying to copy a project I made to cd so that I can take elsewhere to print.  The project is in .php format and for some reason it will not copy to cd.  I'm able to copy jpg. format to cd with no problems.  I tried to change the project in "save as", but it only offers the .php format to save it in.  Any help of suggestions is greatly appreciated.

    Hi jnsreine,

Are you using Windows media player or Windows media center to burn the CD?

You may try to change the file extension and check if it helps.

    1. Right-click the file you want to change and click Rename.

Delete the file name extension, type the new extension (.jpg), and then press ENTER. Windows will warn you that changing the file name extension might cause the file to stop working properly. If you are certain that the extension you typed is one that the program you are using will understand, click Yes to confirm the change.

Unlike when you burn an audio CD, Windows Media Player does not convert your files to another format before it saves them to a data disc. It just copies the files as they are.

The DVD player that you use to play the data CD or DVD must be capable of playing the file types you put on the disc. Otherwise you’ll need to use another program to convert them to the different format.

    Hope this information is helpful.

Much easier way to convert from .php to . JPEG automatically.

Example you wish to take a .php image from the internet, and have it show as a normal JPEG on your computer.

Simply type .jpg after the end of each image name, then download it.

    Examples I use:

    Date Name of image 001.jpg

    Date Name of image 002.jpg

    Date Name of image 003.jpg

Every image will download to your computer as a JPEG image, no matter what former file extension was on it originally.

I have downloaded some images which appeared to be JPEG files but are actually .php and only open by reconnecting to the source server. A solution I have found is to get the image on the screen, press "Print Screen", open photo editing program, create a new file, press Ctrl + V. The image of your screen appears in the new file. Crop as desired and click "Save a copy" (as JPEG). Problem solved.
