I am trying to uninstall some programs that the Windows 7 upgrade advisor suggested. But when I try, Vista tells me I must be an administrator to do that. I am signed in as an administrator. I have tried and tried, but cannot uninstall the programs. Can I just go ahead and install Windows 7 and then uninstall the programs?

Abover is an old Thread, but a good read.

If the Upgrade Advisotr suggested you uninstall them, take the advice.

Try using this Program to do it:

    http://www.revouninstaller.com/

Revo Uninstaller helps you to uninstall software and remove unwanted programs installed on your computer even if you have problems uninstalling and cannot uninstall them from "Windows Add or Remove Programs" control panel applet.

Revo Uninstaller is a much faster and more powerful alternative to "Windows Add or Remove Programs" applet!

With its advanced and fast algorithm, Revo Uninstaller analyzes an application's data before uninstall and scans after you uninstall an application. After the program's regular uninstaller runs, you can remove additional unnecessary files, folders and registry keys that are usually left”

    Cheers.

    1. Click on Windows logo (start menu)
    2. Next click on Control Panel
    3. Now Type "User Account" in search box
    4. Next click on "Turn User Account Control (UAC) OFF"
    5. You will now have to reboot the system
    6. Once rebooted you should be able to uninstall the program
    7. Once uninstalled you can turn UAC back on (if you want) and reboot the system
